Dr. Tonisha M. Pinckney, "Dr. Toni," is the Founder of Revelatus Specialized Accounting and Consulting, LLC, I AM MORE, LLC, and I AM MORE Institute for Excellence and Social Responsibility, Inc. She is a native of Newark, NJ and is dedicated to education and advocacy. With a wide range of expertise, supported by over 16 years of experience. A leader in higher education, Dr. Toni is a Visiting Professor at Salem State University and Lecturer at Lasell University. Previously, she was the Director of Criminal Justice Undergraduate and Graduate Programs at Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA., Assistant Dean of Adult & Professional Studies, Online Learning, Institutional Partnership at Newbury College in Brookline. Where she was also Director of the Criminal Justice and Legal Studies Programs. Before and during her time in higher education, Dr. Toni continued to hone her expertise in tax accounting, forensic accounting, fraud investigations, and financial analysis roles.
As a practitioner, Dr. Toni works with businesses, religious institutions and non-profits, attorneys, and others. Service offerings include mediation, expert witness reports and testimony, risk assessment and mitigation, safe hiring, and training employees and managers. She is passionate about educating small businesses and minority communities about identity theft, fraud prevention, entrepreneurialism, non-profit sustainability, and more.
Dr. Toni earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Criminal Justice and Criminology, a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati (2010), and graduate certificates in Security Studies and Forensic Criminology from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Dr. Toni earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Kean University in New Jersey. She is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and earned the related certification. She is also a Master Analyst in Financial Forensics as earned and granted by the National Association of Certified Value Analysts (NACVA), where she serves on the Ethics Oversight Board. She also has a host of other educational and professional development certifications and accomplishments related to sexual offending and recidivism, expert witness testimony, mediation, emergency management, and risk assessment.
She is the President (elect) of the Board of Trustees at Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital, a Massachusetts Department of Mental Health institution. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Massachusetts, Inc. where she works with local law enforcement as a Crisis Intervention Team Instructor and Diversity Liaison. Dr. Toni also serves on the Massachusetts Domestic and Sexual Violence Council.
Dr. Toni is an outspoken author, advocate, and activist on issues of racial, socioeconomic, and gender disparities. She helps promote and maintain diversity and inclusiveness, and advocates for more funding for mental health treatment, transportation, child mental health services, health care, and police training. She also serves as corporator, trustee, and a board member for other organizations.
Fueled by her own experiences, she authored books discussing domestic violence, sexual assault, parenting, grief, mental illness, and racial and socio-economic disparity – I AM MORE – The Journey (2009, 2016), I AM MORE: Surviving Survival (2013, 2017), and Get Over It? I'm Still Going Through it! 15 Tools to Use When Going Through Tough Times (2017). Recognizing the importance of saying, "I AM MORE!” Dr. Toni registered it as a trademark. She is also the author of My turn To Lead: Fundamentals of Leadership & Influence for New and Emerging Leaders (2018).
Her greatest joy is being a mother to her two college-aged sons who live life passionately as they promote positive self-image, unity, and awareness. Dr. Toni spends her free time laughing with family and friends, writing poetry, cooking, playing video games, watching movies, experiencing escape rooms, laser tag, and playing with the family dog.
